Welcome to Mrs. B's combined fourth and fifth grade class from Cape Town in South Africa.
Our Senior Citizens project has brought us so many wonderful collaborative opportunities with classes around the world. Miss Ale from Argentina brought to my attention an amazing programme called Etherpad (Etherpad.com) and we have used it to write collaborative stories in class, in groups of three or four. We are hoping to write collaborative stories with Mr Millward's class in Canada and Miss Ale's class in Argentina.

Hello Miss Fiona, I am one of Ale's students. I think it is awesome for us to share our different opinions and stories on ETHERPAD which we have already used in our class. I hope we enjoy this project together with other children of the world sharing ideas and opinions, i am already anxious for it to start! Well hope the project starts soon.

Miss Fiona, I am a student from Argentina, let's say that I am one of Miss Ale's student. When I saw your comments at our blog I was impressed because it is wonderfull that a teacher can leave a comment from South Africa or United States, and another teacher did, but from United States. We all 6th already used Etherpad since we had created our story and then Miss Ale new about this new programme. But some few days ago, Ale had told us this kind of new project that we will do with etherpad and with your children. I am anxious and I really want this time to come because I think that we will enjoy it a lot. Comunicate from the blog with people around the world is woow! I want the time to comee and rushing so that we can comunicate and learn more about you. For me South Africa is an excellent country, but I know that in Africa most of the people speak African, but in South Africa most of southafricans speak english so I wonder if you speak english or african. Answer me back! And keep on commenting in our blog so that we can comunicate more!

Hello Miss Fiona, I am one of the Mr.Millward's student. As you know, we are trying to do a lot of
ReplyDeletecollaborative writings. Your blog is really impressing me not just because you are in cape town, but it's the students that are doing this! This is fantastic! I hope your students like to write a lot. But many of the students hate writings. Using "the fifty tools" did help me a lot. Anyway, it was a great time looking around your class blog.
Hello Miss Beal, I am a student of Mr. Millward's. I just wanted to say that our class has tried Etherpad today and did some collaborative writing locally in our classroom, and it is a very great tool. I like the idea of writing a story collaboratively with your class and Miss. Ale's class in Argentina. When would be a good time to do something like that?
